IANA Theatre Company was founded in 2009 with a focus on Canadian Musical Theatre Production. This year they have two Original Canadian Musicals as part of their season, starting with STALKYARD HURTS.
This season, IANA Theatre Company searched the country to find Canada’s most successful band ever to do a show about. What they found was STALKYARD HURTS. This mockumentary style musical follows the band on their 2012 reunion tour, as we learn about what brought them together, why they were such a success, and what eventually tore them apart. For the band that wrote such hits as ‘LOVE’ and ‘SDRAWKCAB’ the first backwards song ever to be performed live, why did they choose to end their most successful tour mid-way through?
Fearing the end of the world, the band is doing one last concert of their biggest hits, and hopefully this time, they’ll make it to their big hometown show.
This fictional musical features all new Pop music in the style of ABBA and Fleetwood Mac, and features an incredible cast of Canadian Musical Theatre performers and comedians.
